THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS FREE SHIPPING. You know what they say- if it's too good to be true, it usually is. Please do not make the mistake of thinking you are getting hundreds of dollars in transportation expenses for nothing. Etsy puts "Free shipping" on all listings that have no shipping cost, including those that are pickup only. It is an automated part of the Etsy platform over which sellers have no control. It is the buyer's responsibility to click into the ad and read the terms, which may be PICKUP ONLY or may limit the delivery radius to a mileage within range of the seller. This is market norm throughout the furniture categories on Etsy. It is Etsy's policy to do it this way. Please refrain from messaging me demanding free services- these responses are reported as spam and ignored. Listings may say free shipping only because there is no cost specified on the listing form, a required field in order to list the product. This is routine on most online selling venues but frequently misinterpreted by shoppers. I've taken the extra step of providing a warning and a text box to type your agreement to pickup at the top of every listing so there are no misunderstandings.
If in doubt, simply ask the seller! And please do not take it personally if an Etsy seller declines to ship an item and asks you to pickup your item yourself. Etsy encourages the use of the Uship platform for DIY shipping, arranged by the buyer, for those too far away to travel here in person.
STORAGE CHARGES MAY APPLY: By making a purchase in my shop, the buyer agrees to pay a storage charge of $35 per month for local in-store pickup orders that are not picked up within the 30-day pickup window outlined in the sale agreement, at the seller's discretion. These charges are non-refundable in the event of order cancelation. An order that is still not picked up as agreed by the buyer by the end of the 5th month of storage is considered abandoned and may be canceled and resold without notice to the buyer.
PROMOTIONAL SALES listings with percentage off price reductions must be picked up by the buyer within 30 days of sale. IF the listing has calculated shipping in addition to the reduced sale price, it can be shipped. If it says "free shipping" and the item is on sale with a price reduction, there is no shipping. You must pick it up within 30 days. If not picked up within 30 days, the sale price discount is void.

I have recreated the store as a vintage-only, used furniture showroom for quality estate furnishings. Most of the TLC furniture I ordinarily would have reserved for customization in the past is being offered cheaply as pick-up only clearance pieces at the present time.

Items are available for pickup from either of our storage locations in Stewartsville or Phillipsburg NJ. I have made new options in the shop to enable shoppers to get delivery for some of the higher end items with the cost dependent on location. There is no such thing as "free shipping"- when etsy puts this on a listing, it either means no shipping is on the listing at all, or it means the shipping cost may be included in the advertised item price, with certain restrictions. This is necessary to work around the soaring inflation and fuel surcharges which have made it difficult to offer the same costs to buyers of all areas for large item deliveries that we may have offered in the past.
The post-pandemic world is more complicated, and due to current economic conditions, I can no longer guarantee the same services or costs to everyone. Until Etsy updates its system with a "local pickup" option at checkout and flat rates that are dependent on distance, this is what we have to work with on this website.
Items labeled PICKUP may not have shipping on the listing. These are typically items of TLC condition and/or low value, where the cost of transportation would exceed the value of the item. You may request assistance in finding a shipper, but in most cases it is the buyer's responsibility to arrange and pay for the shipping costs, unless the description of the ad specifically outlines inclusive delivery services to your particular region of the country. Please see the individual listing terms at the top of each ad and in the description area.

well I'm not sure what that means but I'm glad the buyer is happy with it and thrilled that it survived the rough handling by the shipping carrier! I am fortunate that I live near a bubble wrap manufacturer which allows me to buy giant rolls of bubble wrap at dirt cheap wholesale prices. so with fragile items and glass I literally cocoon everything in multiple layers just in case something like that happens. I'm glad the effort paid off.

4 out of 5 starsThis item arrived very safely packaged. It is a very Americana vintage design if that's the esthetic one is interested in, I was looking for more of a European look. The reason for the four stars is that this chair is smaller than I expected and potentially not a practical dining room chair which was my intent. Ask for more closeup pictures from the seller if you are interested. The seller is very cooperative.

dimensions are clearly posted on the advertisement so there's really no reason for anything you buy here to be not as anticipated as far as sizing is concerned. Etsy is notorious for people ignoring the posted sizes on the advertisements and then being surprised by the size of items when they get them. also this is extremely common for antique chairs of this nature. modern dining room chairs are big bulky and oversized compared to regular standard chair size from over 100 years ago.

fantastic, very glad that the buyer is pleased with the piece and that it has a good home. this piece was made by Century Furniture and everything that I have had made by them was just outstanding quality. I would not have minded keeping this one for myself it was so nice, but as I've said before I can't keep them all. the buyer was so easy to work with and sent their own shipper who was really great to deal with. everything worked out wonderfully.

I was contacted one to two times a week with up dates and if I could I’d buy all of their furniture.The man who delivered the chest so so kind and dear not everyone is like him. You would have thought the chest was going to his house. When ordering anything from The urban Chic Showroom they take extra special care when choosing a carrier. thank you, that is very kind. I'm happy to give such a beautiful piece a good home. I have used that particular carrier from the uShip website several times. they've always done a wonderful wonderful job. for items that I do handle the shipping myself I try to use carriers that I have used in the past and had good experiences with. this piece was a little bit of a reluctant sale, one of my better name brand pieces from my personal collection but I can't keep them all. so I'm happy to share with someone who appreciates it as much as I do.
